Madrid became the centre of Spanish fashion from September 14 to 19, 2026, with the 84th edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, dedicated to the Spring/Summer 2027 collections. Organised by IFEMA MADRID with the support of the Madrid City Council, the 2026 edition marked a further evolution of the event’s format, moving beyond the traditional exhibition-centre setting and bringing fashion shows to some of the capital’s most distinctive locations. The new urban route included the Invernadero del Palacio de Cristal de Arganzuela, the Galería de Cristal del Palacio de Cibeles, the Campus de Comunicación y Artes at Universidad Nebrija, as well as other venues such as the Rosaleda del Parque del Oeste, the Hotel Palace, the Jardines de los Palacios de Vista Alegre and the Galería de las Colecciones Reales. Fashion was therefore integrated into a broader itinerary connecting architecture, culture and contemporary creativity across the city.

Among the most significant new venues of the 2026 edition was Universidad Nebrija, selected as one of the main locations for the programme from September 16 to 19. The university’s Campus de Comunicación y Artes at San Francisco de Sales hosted both established fashion houses and a new generation of designers presented through the EGO platform. The university thus became one of the key settings of the event, bringing together the academic world, creative education and the spectacle of the runway.

On September 17, the second day of shows at Nebrija, the runway featured Odette Álvarez, Malne, Antonio del Canto and Isabel Sanchis, while Redondo Brand presented its collection as part of the OFF programme. The day also marked Antonio del Canto’s debut in the main MBFWMadrid calendar, following his previous participation in the EGO platform.

On September 18, the programme continued with Maison Mesa, Custo Barcelona, Lola Casademunt by Maite and Yolancris, while Alvarno presented an OFF-schedule show. The day brought together established names in Spanish fashion, reflecting a broad range of approaches to contemporary design and aesthetics.

The event concluded on September 19 at Universidad Nebrija with EGO, the platform dedicated to emerging talent, which celebrated its twentieth anniversary in 2026. Apolineo Studio, Biyeyemete, Cotes, Isabel Is My Name, Karla Aguilar and Miss Take presented their collections, highlighting the role of EGO in discovering and supporting a new generation of Spanish fashion designers. With its 2026 edition, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid further strengthened the relationship between fashion and the city, turning Madrid itself into a distributed stage and establishing venues such as Universidad Nebrija as new meeting points between established designers, emerging creativity and the public.
